A beautiful cellar door with a stunning view. Service was warm and friendly. The summer picks tasting list was a delight. We also tried their Sparkling Shiraz made in the Methode Traditionelle, and that was probably the best Sparkling Shiraz we’ve come across. There’s no mistaking the Shiraz in it, delightful.
We stopped by for a drink late afternoon and then we came back for the wine tasting the next morning. Alex was just fantastic, she knew so much about the history and really made us feel at home, we chatted about anything and everything including our favourite, truffles!!! The setting of this place is just stunning, the wines are GA LO RIUS - and if you are ever so lucky to get Alex to help you, you will have a special experience. Added bonus is the sheep like a good ear scratch.

What a wonderful time we had at Hugh Hamilton! I could not speak more highly of the staff, especially Will who made our tasting experience so enjoyable. The passion he had for not only wine, but also ensuring the customer felt valued was extremely transparent. His level of privacy and assistance as a Sommelier was simply outstanding. The wine itself was spectacular and unlike anything I have tried before. It is evident that the team at Hugh Hamilton are world class and are not afraid to pioneer into new and uncharted waters with their bold flavours and unprecedented mixing. I cannot wait to recommend this winery to my friends and family when they visit the McLaren Vale so they can experience the wonderful establishment that is Hugh Hamilton Wines.
We love Hugh Hamilton winery. We had Angus for the tasting and he was so informative and lovely. Will also went above and beyond for our experience and made it one to remember. We could not recommend Hugh Hamilton wines and hospitality more.
Enjoyed my visit here over Easter. It’s a great fit out at the tasting room and has a beautiful view. Their wines are good and I love some of the funny names (Drama Queen for their bubbles). The server was very knowledgeable and we enjoyed it. Only negative was we asked if one person could taste whites only and another red which they rejected but we asked again and they accepted it as a one off. Would come back and really enjoy the ‘black sheep’ story behind the winery! 🍷
Peaceful place to enjoy a bottle of red or do some wine tasting over looking the vines. We visit Saturday avo and enjoyed few glasses of red, including meeting Bruce the dog 🐶 very inviting, well priced and great experience. 5 stars 🌟 …
